First Communions and May Crowning
On Sunday, May 6th, twelve children from St. Joseph's Church—seven boys and five girls—received Our Lord for the first time in Holy Communion.
They had worked hard to memorize their catechism, they had prepared themselves by prayers and little sacrifices, and most importantly, had sought to stir up a greater and greater love for their Divine Lord present in the Blessed Sacrament at a day of recollection the previous day.
The Mass began with the first communicants and a large number of the Eucharistic Crusaders processing into the church with flowers for Our Lady. One of the first communicants then carried in a flower crown and it was placed on the head of our Heavenly Mother. Having duly honored Our Lady in this, her month of May, the Mass was begun.
May God bless these precious souls and may Our Lady watch over them and keep their souls as pure and joyful as they were on this special day!
